The knit isn't so thick that you feel itchy and suffocated (oh and believe me, it's not a thick knit...I tried to wear it out without a bra and realized halfway through the evening that I was basically X rated), but it still has that chunky look. Plus, it's under $40 right now and also comes in dark gray. You need this in your closet for fall.
Another thing you need? The cult classic lip color, Clinique Black Honey. It's what I'm wearing in these pictures and it's the color I can't wait to pull out every fall and winter.
THE ITEMS
Everlane Loafers - Jeans {similar here and here} - Sunglasses - Lip Color
THE LOOK
I've worn it for dinner with colleagues, brunch with family, happy hour with a girl friend...you name it, this turtleneck has worked for every occasion. I also love this light tan paired with white jeans for an early fall look.
THE LOCATION
These photos were taken a few weeks ago at the National Arboretum while on the hunt for fall leaves. As you can see, the leaves were underwhelming, and I'm not sure I'd use the National Arboretum for another blog shoot — actually I am sure, I wouldn't — but, I did discover that it's an amazing hidden retreat in DC. I've heard of people taking walks there for years, but had never ventured out there myself. You can guarantee I'll be back on a nice day for a stroll and some fresh air.
